Are images I created years ago in a competition with the top artist in the area, this won two of the 3 awards. Carole Craig was my subject in the first image and Timothy Deratany in the second. The theme of the shoot was Alter Ego.

I have grown to really love shooting portraits. It’s not always easy for people to relax and feel comfortable in front of the camera, but I have learned to work efficiently using only a minimal amount of equipment in order to focus on my subjects. I typically only work with one light, a Hensel Porty system, with either a beauty dish or a large umbrella. Nothing makes me feel more honored than being asked to take a person’s photograph.

Duncan Jay is originally from Alabama, he spent a majority of his childhood in Florida, and a majority of his adulthood in New York City…his southern charm, mixed with sarcastic quick wit leaves audiences laughing and realizing Duncan’s own brand of comedy…Southern Hostility!!! Duncan is not the stereo-typical Yankee, and yet he’s not a stereo-typical southerner either, Duncan Jay has seen and done it all. I worked again with the lovely Haley Bohon . We got to shoot in FooBar in Melbourne Florida, great venue for a night out!. I must thank the Carly Sinigoi and Sarah Starling of Electric Oranges for doing the styling and assisting on the shoot.

I had the great honor of photographing Dr. Lynn Weaver the President of Florida institute of Technology from 1987 to 2002. During his presidency he brought the university significant improvements in the university’s academic reputation and physical appearance. He was instrumental in getting the F. W. Olin Foundation $50 million grant to improve the university.
